How Pumpkin Can Help Your Skin

I love the spring and autumn of every year. The crisp air of the early mornings and late evenings, are just so cozy. Yet we get to enjoy the sunny warmth of the sun during the daytime, even wearing dresses & tanks tops and shorts, showing off our spectacular skin. Healthy skins glows, like the jack o’lantern that glows from your doorstep every Halloween.

Which brings me to the topic of this article – pumpkins and what they can do for you besides just sitting there on your porch looking all warm & inviting plus not to mention all the yummy things we can make out of them, to share with our family and friends? These are some things that you may not necessarily think of when it comes to our, plump and orange lovely friend.

Pumpkins have secrets, hiding inside that they would love to share with you if you let them. Secrets, that we can all really use, to make us look and feel more radiant, than ever, naturally, pumpkins are loaded with a large variety of nutrients that our bodies can use in so many different ways to help us, internally and externally. That’s right externally. Pumpkin is a great moisturizer it can help soothe the roughest of dry feet and it can also smooth away fine lines.

It can even be used to treat sun damaged skin. Other research shows that some of the vitamins and minerals can help remedy damages caused by free radicals. Even though our tummies love pumpkin pie, our skin loves mask and scrubs and other skin treatments made with our plump little friend. There are dozens of home remedies and recipes available online for just about anything you may desire, for skin care that include pumpkin.

Pumpkin puree face mask

  •  3 tbs of pureed pumpkin
  • 2 tbs of honey
  • 1 tbs of milk ( reg. for oily skin, or buttermilk for dry skin) (optional)

Mix really well, and spread onto your face ( mixture should be so thick that  it stays on  your face).

Leave it on your face 10-15 minutes, rinse well with warm water and pat dry.

This is just an example recipe that can be found on the internet. It may even make your tummy a little jealous. Try some and let the pumpkin share its secret of how to glow, and be radiant, with natural skin care. Just remember, if you are not up to making those items then you can always find similar things at places like GNC or at an herbal store.
